My Time to Heal - GOLD STAR AND SURVIVING SPOUSES RETREAT

Our Chairman and Gold Star wife recently visited the Hickory Catholic Conference Center which will serve as the location for our first retreat. We are happy to partner with Eagle Rock Camp and to provide this faith-based (but as they say not preachy) experience for Gold Star and Surviving spouses. The four-day overnight respite will provide a variety of activities such as hiking, healthy cooking classes with an onsite private chef, yoga, and time to bond with other survivors in this lush, serene location. If you are a Gold Star/Surviving spouse and would to attend or for those interested in sponsoring a spouse, please contact Admin@thesugarbearfoundation.org

Congratulations to Sarah Lee! Sarah is the 2021 RF-LAMBDA Memorial Scholarship (In Honor of Lieutenant Colonel “Sugar Bear” Carazo) recipient. Sarah is a Gold Star daughter and a freshman at William and Mary majoring in neuroscience while on a pre-med track.

“As a first-generation college student, it's often difficult to navigate the college process and adjust to being away from home. The scholarship by the Sugar Bear Foundation and RF-Lambda has been my guidance and support throughout this journey. I'm happy to be part of this wonderful organization that has been a major help to me in becoming one step closer to my dream.”

We are constantly working to provide more resources for the spouses and children we serve. Thanks to our Scholarship Sponsor, RF-LAMBDA we will be launching a new Academic Resources Page that will serve both Gold Star Children/Teens as well as provide information for their parent/s or Guardians.
